It all began in 1981, when our founder, Pauline Nash, started a curtain and soft furnishing business from the comfort of her very own home. The business quickly garnered a reputation for creating beautifully crafted, bespoke soft furnishings and attracted an ever-growing queue of clients. Today, Calico Interiors works on both home and commercial projects all across the UK and resides at the rather

glorious Lambsquay House, a former hotel in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire - and Pauline has a little more help these days. With our own team of talented makers and upholsterers, soft furnishings are still at the core of our business, but we’ve come a long way since those early years. From furniture to flooring, and even that vase for the shelf, we have everything you need to create your perfect space. Whether it’s just a simple pair of curtains, a new sofa, or a much larger scale project - our Showroom and Design Studio is run by an experienced team of designers, who are there to help you create the interiors you dream of.

Working with our client’s existing Loaf sofas, we introduced made to measure curtains in a stunning Jane Churchill fabric and a bespoke footstool to bring the scheme together seamlessly.

Finished with Farrow & Ball’s Oval Room Blue on the walls, the result is a space that feels calm, characterful and effortlessly inviting.

It was a privilege for us to contribute to this award winning destination, manufacturing and installing bespoke window treatments, headboards, cushions and bed throws across 35 bedrooms, as well as the bar, restaurant and spa.⁠

Working across three distinct design schemes, every detail was carefully crafted to complement the hotel's coastal setting and showcase the breathtaking sea views of Pembrokeshire.⁠

Our client purchased this property knowing it needed a complete transformation and with a clear vision to make it entirely their own. Colour, personality and character were key from the outset. ⁠
⁠
So let’s start with the bedroom.. a statement headboard upholstered in sets the tone for the room, with a matching divan base to create a beautifully cohesive foundation. Templeton Pink by brings warmth to the walls, whilst layered with curtains for softness and depth.⁠
⁠
We designed and made the bed throw and cushions in house, and commissioned a bespoke ottoman in to sit at the foot of the bed. The armchair combines and Romo fabrics, adding another layer of texture and interest.⁠
⁠
A space full of confidence, comfort and individuality, exactly as it should be. ✨
