Finally - my pièce de résistance - a Christmas gift for our good friend Debbie which is basically a fireside armchair which I stripped, repadded and covered in an outrageous raspberry pink/fuchsia crushed velvet chenille, finished in crystal buttons on the back pad. Such fun to cover, partly thanks to my new machine tearing through four layers of fabric when doing the piping! Four new wooden legs finished the piece, replacing the resin legs which were just awful!!

Another job for Anna came in the form of two dining chairs to be repadded and woodwork waxed, yet again using the fabulous Kirkby Fabrics 'Underground' in 'Bakerloo' Kingfisher. I'm currently completing the remaining two chairs for her - lovely Arts and Crafts chairs with sublime carving detail on the corners/top of legs.

A welcome break from doing chairs came in the form of some faux-silk cushions for another lady who contacted me to make up four 18" feather cushions - zipped and piped. Thanks to my new (second hand) Pfaff sewing machine, these were completed in good time and with lovely results. The fabrics are Sanderson 'Iolanthe' in Spa and Terracotta.

After getting the Lloyd Loom finished, I had been working on a couple of dining chairs for a lady, which I managed to get finished for her before Christmas. Difficulties in getting across to her means I'll be completing her remaining chairs and table in the New Year. I've decided to show some of the intricate work on the wood before it was painted over. Although some of you may think the purists' way would be to treat the wood for a natural finish, the painted finish actually still works well.

After a manic month of getting work completed, I thought it would be a good idea to update my page. Working on my own means I often don't have the time to keep social media happy - customers' work comes first!

So, to make amends, here is the first job completed at the end of November - a delightful Lloyd Loom chair for Anna, resprayed in antique brass which complemented the fabulous Romo/Kirkby Fabrics Underground 'Bakerloo' in KIngfisher. It was superb fabric to work with!

Just finished another commission - three dining chairs for Angela, a delightful customer who was overjoyed to get her chairs back today completely refurbished in a lovely light fern green velour. The chairs have some age and the backs have a beautiful swirling Art Nouveau curve to them in a deep mahogany shade. A very happy client!

A lovely assortment of crafty folk and antique collectors which resulted in our getting a total of 6 enquiries and leads, of which a good 4 or so are promising - thanks to Ali's charm offensive!
