Updated with photos from another genuine seller highlighting the cash on delivery sofas.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve had several customers come to me after being caught out buying very cheap beds and sofas on Facebook. Unfortunately, many of these sellers are unregulated and some products may not meet British safety standards.

Sellers are using photos from the real manufacturers to get your attention.

Please be careful when buying through Facebook and always do your research first.

A few warning signs to look out for:⛔️
-no address on business page
• The same stock photos being used under lots of different business names
• Sellers replying “I’ll DM you” when multiple people are asking the same questions publicly
• Prices that seem far too good to be true

Sadly, some people are even taking old spring mattresses, recovering them, and selling them as “new” instead of clearly advertising them as upcycled.

My advice:
✔️ Ask plenty of questions
✔️ Ask if you can view the product before buying
✔️ Make sure the mattress or sofa meets UK safety standards

Cheap prices can sometimes end up costing more in the long run if you need to replace the product quickly.
Pay a little extra for safety and lasting furniture.

Personally, I believe a mattress is something you should try before you buy — a good night’s sleep is so important.

I always encourage customers to shop around because everyone has different needs when it comes to mattresses and sofas.

Photos shows example of one of the most popular style poor quality sofas on Facebook, they are usually called a bishop u shape.
