Another RHS Chelsea Flower Show beautifully wrapped up, and once again, it’s reminded us just how much of a true family effort this show is for us at Oxford Planters.
When we say “family business,” we really do mean family and that absolutely includes the wonderful friends and colleagues who become part of it all too.
Leon and I live and breathe Oxford Planters every single day, and Chelsea is something we pour our hearts into together. Our daughter Chloe has worked alongside me on the stand since she was 18 (she’s now 23!) while also looking after our website so brilliantly. Our son Blake and his beautiful partner Freya always help us with the breakdown after the show and, as an engineer, Blake also works with his dad on the bespoke designs and technical details for many of our customers’ orders.
My lovely mother-in-law joins us every year too, helping me with all the final fettling on the stand. She absolutely loves watching Chelsea come to life each year. Auntie Dianne comes along with her huge smile and infectious laugh, bringing so much joy to the show.
Then there’s our amazing workshop team, working alongside Leon for months beforehand, making our beautiful pieces while also keeping up with our wonderful customer orders. They help us build the stand too, and we honestly couldn’t do it without them.
This year we were also joined on the stand by our good friend Kim, who now probably knows almost as much about timber as I do!
And of course, to the incredible designers and friends we work with year after year: thank you for the laughs, the teamwork, the cups of tea, the cosy blankets, and occasionally the odd tipple too. Those moments together are such a special part of the experience.
I didn’t take nearly enough photos this year, so here are just a few ❤️ But we simply wanted to say thank you to every single person who helped make this year so special. You all know who you are, and we’re endlessly grateful.
