Recently, we have been working on a new technique that replicates ‘Rammed Earth’ which has been used in house building for thousands of years. It involves ramming layers of sand into forms under pressure recreating the sediment layers of rock that form naturally over millions of years. Any combination of colours can be used, and we can make the patterns and tones as muted or bright and bold as you wish. It’s great for indoor or outdoor pieces. The daffodils are out and in the next few days there will be a sea of bluebells covering the forest floors. Shoots of new growth are springing up through the soil, the birds are singing their best song and, on my walk, I’ve seen quite a few big bumble bees gathering the pollen from the white wood anemone ……

We love making bespoke, challenging polished concrete pieces. So when we were contacted by a designer asking us to make large self supporting shelving with a very rough industrial look we were extremely happy to help. The form making was very time consuming as over 40 individual boxes had to be made out of ply, body filled, sanded and lacquered by hand.
