I probably should have waited for a brighter day to take these photos but I’m just happy that the renovations are finally done, what was once a separate dining room has now been knocked through and is a snug area to the kitchen, it wouldn’t be half as eye catching if it wasn’t for mural which I have had my eye on for a long while

Sometimes less is more, when you have a beautiful vintage piece of furniture a bit of TLC is all it takes to bring back to life!
After some careful sanding and minor repairs I buffed and polished the whole thing with wax bringing out the beautiful wood grain

When you have a beautiful antique piece of furniture sometimes less is more
It has great bones but the surface had wear and tear and some slight damage so after some very fine sanding using paper and wire wool I removed the top layer, repaired any damage and coated it with Fusion Mineral Paint wax and buffed to a soft sheen the finish result is a softer look with the beautiful grain of the wood being the star of the show

Stripping back paint is such a time consuming, painstaking job but this has so many layers of old paint that I want a fresh smooth surface to work on.

Golden chairs 👑

This is the second make over of these chairs, first I painted them black with a deep green seat, but this room is dark, even when the sun moves round it doesn’t quite hit this room so I thought why not bring the sunshine in myself!
Now the chairs positively glow ✨✨

Gold leafing these was no joke my back after the 3rd chair was in bits but boy I think it was worth it !

I’m redecorating my dining room and have become obsessed with eBay and marketplace looking for a slim cabinet, it’s dangerous because then I spot tables, chests, huge cocktail cabinets and I want them all ! So today I’m taking a break so my garage doesn’t turn into secondhand furniture warehouse !

I got this secondhand lampshade from fb market place, I forgot to take before photos but it was cream and pink floral, very faded and chintzy but I loved the shape
I had a cut off of velvet fabric so used that to add some glam! I’m so happy with the makeover and it adds a much needed pop of colour to what was a very muted corner of the dining room

Here is my latest transformation of a piece of furniture for a customer, to save it from the dreaded tip I discussed with my client colour themes that would work in her home
We decided upon a classic black and gold with some flashes of deep green. Now it can be a statement piece in her home for many years to come
