✨ New Statement Piece Available ✨

I'm excited to finally say, its completed. I handcrafted this piece as a piece of artwork, made from Yew wood and resin.

I designed this to capture the feel of a natural shoreline, the piece features embedded boats, shells, waves and stones, creating depth, movement, and a strong coastal narrative.

Subtle LED lighting concealed within the frame illuminates the blue resin, bringing the shoreline to life and making it a real focal point in any space. The artwork is finished with an oak veneer frame, painted black, ensuring the piece stands out while maintaining a clean, contemporary look.

Another stunning resin table complete.😍

This was a tough challenge and the hardest table we have had to do, the client supplied us the piece of 48mm Oak but it was bowed by around 20mm. 🪵

Normally, we would split the timber, frame it and pour the resin in the middle, but our client wanted us keep the shape but to machine out this pattern 15mm down ( which they designed ) but also machine the ends so it looked like the resin went all the way through.

We would normally machine and flattern the timber both sides to level the piece so the resin could level out perfectly, but there would be a massive issue....🤔

To flattern the timber, we would need to remove at least 10-15mm one side and 10mm the other. Leaving our client with around a 25mm top.

The client then left it up to us, to decide what to do.

We decided to leave it, balance the timber and cnc out the middle as per thier design. But only skimming 3mm off the front edge as the pattern come off the front so we didnt destroy the front live edge.

We then built a fortress with sticks around the shape, mixed the resin under pressure to remove as many bubbles as possible and over poured the resin until it filled the fortress. A fortress is not the normal way of doing things but we knew the idea would work!

We used a sky blue metallic resin by and we filled up some of the cracks and worm holes with the resin to give some some more colour in other places.

As the table had cracks all the way through, some cracks were impossible to fill due to the shape of the timber.

We then stripped and sanded the table until our pattern started to show. We blended, shaped and formed all sides, sanded for hours from 180-2000 grit and finished it with a beautiful 50% lacquer.

We were delighted that we managed to keep the chunky top the same thickness and achieve what our clients wanted. The table has come out beautifully and we cannot wait for our client to see it.
