Some more progress shots of the stag dressing table restoration, most of all the paint layers have now been removed.

A few more areas will need sanding, and then i can apply the first coat of undercoat to see what areas require filling.

Another item we have decided to make a start on at the workshop.

This small writing bureau is in fairly good condition, the internal letter storage compartment has seen better days and will require rebuilding.

More updated images of the restoration to follow.

It's been a while, but we have decided to pull one of our stag dressing tables out of storage and restore it.

This particular piece is not in the best condition, loose legs, broken drawers and very badly painted.

We have made a start by removing the paint and fixing the loose legs. For this the legs and joints need to be disassembled and opened up to allow them to be re-glued.

The next stage is to finish removing the paint, so it can be undercoated.

This piece will be for sale once complete, we know it doesn't look much now but it will.

Just finished up with the base section of a Welsh dresser we have been working on.

Old waxed pine furniture always needs a lot of preparation to get a good outcome.

This piece had 2x undercoats and quite a lot of filling required.

Now to deliver back to the customer and put both pieces back together.

A set of farmhouse dining room chairs we recently completed.

These had been used for over 20 years, and we're showing signs of that.

After a thorough degrease and clean using cellulose thinners, all the chairs were sanded down with 120 grit sandpaper and flexy pads.

Some chairs required repair, some of the joints needed opening up and re gluing, but for their age they weren't too bad.

After a dusting off, I tinted the haftprimer undercoat to medium grey and applied it to all the chairs.

Once dry, all the chairs were sanded down again with a worn out flexy pad probably about a 320 grit, then after a final blast of compressed air and a wipe over with a tack cloth they were ready for top coat.

The colour chosen was a dark green from the 'Little Green' pallete, and was sprayed using an oil based eggshell.
