*ANNOUNCEMENT*
Two of our new projects are now live on the website to book!
www.newhavencoppice.co.uk

These will be purely prehistoric, exploring Skin-on-Frame Boats in March/April 2024 and Dugout Canoes in May 2024.

The first will delve into the world of our Neolithic and early Bronze Age ancestry, utilising stone, bone, antler and copper tools to fell timber, work wood and process hides for these curragh-style watercraft.

The second project will venture forward in time to the Bronze and Iron Age as we attempt to create logboats based on those found within the peat of the Somerset Levels.

To make these available to as many people as possible, we've introduced a sliding scale for booking. If you can't commit to the full four days, don't despair, drop us a line and we will make sure you can join us.

🎉🎉🎉 NEWSFLASH !!!🎉🎉🎉

We've been a little quiet on here lately, as we've been working super hard on our new and expanding project... so without further ado...

We at Newhaven Coppice are expanding our love of experimental archaeology, timber framing, heritage crafts and woodland management. The Blackdown Experimental Archaeological Research Centre (The BEAR Centre) will become the home of all of this. Based on the Blackdown hills, we will be telling Britain's woodland story over the last 10,000 years.
