Circle Woodshop Functional furniture handmade from reclaimed timber with passion and care. Based in Caversham near R We always try to make pieces that we want to keep.

Simple, functional wooden furniture handmade in England with passion care and a conscience. Circle Wood Shop is a small independent workshop making simple, handmade, functional furniture from reclaimed or discarded wood. We want to try to bring out the beauty and potential of wood which has been thrown out and probably destined for landfill. The name Circle Wood Shop relates to the circle of recyc

ling or closed-loop recycling. It consists of myself (Mark Littlewood) and Stan Borough; Stan sources the wood and I make the furniture. Both graduates in Fine Art and former lecturers, we have always worked with our hands, designing and making. We wanted to combine and develop our passions of working with discarded materials, creatively and sustainably, and to work in a way that opposes mass produced, corporate, throw away culture. Making with a conscience, always by hand and with care, and loving what we do, is how we wanted to make a living.
..so we took the plunge and opened Circle Woodshop. At Circle Wood Shop we design and make the furniture to be functional and to take the knocks and wear of everyday life. We want the wood to be able to show the passage of time and to retain and develop its character. Each piece has its own struggles and triumphs during the making process. They are always made with care and attention, and treated as an individual with their own foibles and inherent character. If we don't want to keep them we take them apart and start again!
