🏠🔨 HANDS-ON SITE MANAGER / CARPENTER 🏠🔨
Looking at working with a small dynamic team of builders based in SW Cornwall?
We are currently looking to recruit a full-time experienced hand-ons site manager to work in Southwest Cornwall (specifically Camborne, Redruth, Helston and surrounding areas) would suit a person with previous carpenter or tradesman.
In a small specialist team, who has a sound & clear knowledge of commercial and residential renovations, extensions, conversions, maintenance & fit-out projects, being able to work to timelines with project programs we would be interested in hearing from you.
Having experience in managing, organising and supervises our direct trades & labourers, suppliers & sub-contract teams, liaising with our office team, designer, maintenance, architects and other clients. The applicant who would be successful for this position would ideally come from a skilled background with a trade that they have mastered.
Critically you must have a clear understanding of health & safety, be a team player and have good interpersonal, communication skills and a sense of humour helps!
Being able to use your initiative and problem solve is essential, we are looking for a strong attention to detail and the ability to lead and motivate a team. With being logical and organised is essential. We would also need you to be confident with the paperwork side of the position, as well as record keeping
We are looking for a leader who is a team player which has lead by example with a proven experience from a trade background.
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 which is negotiable and based on experience.
This job is for you - if you have:
Extensive experience of the construction industry is essential with a minimum record of 5 years+ in the trade.
• Excellent and proven people management skills, including the management of subcontractors.
• Proven leadership qualities, the ability to motivate others and excellent communication and organisational skills, along with planning and time management skills.
• Practical hands-on approach as well as able to perform office-based duties required for the site.
• Preferred but not essential; CSCS supervisor card SMSTS qualification. Training can be provided for required courses and qualifications.
Here’s what a typical day would be like:
• Leading by example promoting safe working on site
• Being responsible for all site-based works including scheduling of works
• Co-ordinating and supervising the work of all site operatives and sub-contractor teams
• Ensuring that all work is delivered safely inline with Health and Safety guidance
• Working to an agreed schedule to bring completed projects in on time and within budget
• Working with the management team to manage equipment and order materials required
• Ensure all Company and legal regulations are implemented, and that all required documentation is completed including recording daily sheets for sites.
• Monitoring and ensuring site personnel have job relevant training, this could be
• new training or updating existing training.
• Hiring and off hire equipment as and when required for the site.
• Communicating and sharing and passing on knowledge to teams.
• Co-ordinating delivery/pick up of materials as required.
• Use your proven skills to assist the team with any hands on work.
• Plan out works in order to meet agreed deadlines, and adjusting when needed.
