FANCY A TRIP TO THE LAKES ?
YMC Hut, Coniston, 12 – 14th January 2024 (3 nights)
We have a few people already planning to attend this meet. If you are interested in joining us at Coniston Coppermines in the Lake District for three or two nights, please get in touch with Claire ([email protected]), and/or email Eddie ([email protected]) to book a place. We need to confirm numbers very soon, and it would be great if more people want to join us - please let us know before 30th December if possible

We have booked 8 places at the Yorkshire Mountaineering Club Hut, Coniston Coppermines -https://theymc.org.uk/the-hut/. Numbers can likely be increased if there is demand. Cost is £45 for 3 nights. This is a lovely hut in a great location for exploring the Coniston hills such as Wetherlam and the Old Man, with excellent scrambling and (winter) climbing on Dow Crag for the hard core! Hopefully we will get good winter conditions for walking and maybe climbing, also excellent preparation for the Glen Coe meet. Note: if there is a lot of snow/ice, it may be necessary to walk the last section from the village, as this is up a rough track. Bookings open now, email Eddie ([email protected]) to book, payment required on booking, let us know if you are interested but do not want to stay for 3 nights.

The Hut The YMC has property available for hire to members and groups. The property is an old miners cottage overlooking the slate mine in Coniston, at the foot of Coniston Old Man. LLANBERIS PASS CLOSURE - SATURDAY 28TH OCTOBER

The Marathon Eryri is taking place this Saturday. There will be a rolling closure of the Llanberis Pass (A4086) between 10am and approximately 11:30am.

If you’re visiting us, please factor this in to your journey and allow extra time to find parking, as we expect the village to be busy.

Joint Chamois & Cleveland BBQ Weekend
