πWinter Wildlife Gardening Tips π
It's really important to look after wildlife in your garden during the toughest time of the year.
πΌEarly flowers: We plant things that will feed any early pollinaters - some queen bees can be out & about as early as March so it's really important to provide them with some food. Hellebores, Snowdrops, Sweet Box, Witch Hazel, Dandelions & Crocuses are great things to cultivate in your garden.
π Prune your fruit trees: Apples & pears should be pruned in winter while they're dormant - that helps to keep the plant healthy & ensure lots of delicious fruit in summer!
π Leave long stems: Insects such as Ladybirds hibernate in hollow stems - we always leave a bit of stem on the plant when tidying up, & we relocate cut stems to a secluded part of the garden so critters can shelter in them.
