Two new picnic benches finished and looking great, hopefully the recipients will still get some weather to use them.

As for the new shed, progress is happening, slowly. A few hiccups slowed things down but we're still making steady progress. It's mainly clearing an tidying so nothing visually exciting to share yet.

We had a visit from Ross Murray, the SMSA's Development officer (for Highlands and Islands), on Wednesday. He popped in for a catchup and to see what our plans are and how we are doing with the renovations of our new shed. We chatted over a cuppa (of course) and he then got a guided tour of the new shed. He was impressed with our plans so far.

🔨Things have been busy behind the scenes at South Skye Men's Shed!

Our shedders have been hard at work in the new shed with renovations but there's still lots to do. On our regular shed days, we've been busy working on picnic bench orders. A big thank you to everyone who has supported us by placing an order - we really appreciate it!

Now all we need is for the sunshine to make an appearance so everyone can get outside and enjoy their new picnic benches! ☀️

From the South Skye Men's shed, to its new home! 🪵✨

Our latest picnic bench is officially delivered and ready for action. In fact, it's already got the ultimate seal of approval from Briosgaid the dog, who wasted no time testing it out. 🐶

This generous support will go towards our internal renovations, bringing us one step closer to creating a welcoming, fully equipped space for our members and the wider community.

As well as doing a wee bit of the renovation work at the new shed recently the shedders had busy and productive session at the old shed today. Today's highlight was the completion of a fantastic new picnic bench — built with care, teamwork, and a fair bit of good humour along the way. Of course, it would’ve been rude not to give it a proper trial run… so the lads took a well-earned break to enjoy a cuppa together sitting on their handiwork ☕

The Shedders have been hard at work in the new building over the past few weeks, from clearing and organising the space to getting stuck into renovations, there’s been plenty teamwork, and good craic along the way. The photos here give a glimpse of what’s been going on behind the scenes.

We were absolutely delighted to receive a share of the profits from the recent run of concerts by The Skye and Lochalsh Orchestra 🎼
