A kitchen bench is more than just somewhere to sit. It can define how the space is used.

Designed to work alongside the architecture & cabinetry, a built-in bench creates a place to pause. Morning coffee, homework time or extra space for those unplanned get-togethers.

Each bench is made to complement the room. Proportions, height and depth are carefully considered, with materials chosen to sit comfortably in your home.

All of our furniture is designed, handmade and finished in our Bristol workshop.

Leighton Road | A bespoke kitchen designed to make the most of a Southville side-return extension in Bristol.

The clients wanted careful and efficient use of the space, improving flow, functionality, and day-to-day usability, while creating a kitchen that transitions effortlessly between cooking, entertaining, and family life.

Scandinavian-inspired and quietly luxurious, the design is crafted in timber, walnut, and laminate, with Foresso surfaces by at the dedicated coffee station area. Curved panels, fluted detailing, and thoughtfully planned zones make this kitchen as functional as it is elegant.

You could say we’re a detail-oriented team, and since the beginning, the smaller factors in our designs have been a huge part of Penroe & King’s DNA.

Everything we build in our Bristol workshop begins with hours of work you’ll rarely see, but always feel. More often than not, it’s the hidden details that define the finished piece.

When space is limited, functional design has to work harder. Slide-and-hide doors disappear smoothly into the cabinetry, opening the space and keeping the flow uninterrupted. A simple, refined detail that makes a big difference to daily living without sacrificing on style.

Lower Park Row.

We were commissioned to produce this joinery package for a full flat renovation. The little mezzanine spaces above the kitchen and shower room pods made the most of the generous ceiling hight available. Subtle pops of colour bring a subtle energy to the fresh, sun drenched spaces, complimenting the clean birch plywood cladding.

𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞.
One of our favourite projects from 2024. We were lucky enough to work with bog oak veneer which is a truly special, storied, timber. Bog oak is a tree that has been submerged in a bog and at the point of milling is 800-2000 years old and semi-fossilised. The slow aging of the timber creates an incredible tone through the wood which helped create this warm and inviting kitchen.
Elsewhere you will find bespoke storage solutions and subtle details which are the hallmarks of a Penroe & King kitchen.
