I have always had a lovely of stationary and pens.
Here are a few of my favourites that I use with glass paints. Many of them are handmade.
I realised that the fountain pen that I got when I was twelve is brilliant as it has an internal plunger mechanism that sucks the paint up.
You just have to get your paint blend right, a lot of grinding and resting.and I use different blends for different pens. Each of these pens makes different marks.
I'll try and do a demo when I have time.
Do you have a particular pen that you love? I'd love to know as I'm always on the look out for new ones!
I have my eye on the Sailor Hokoro, the Kakimori and The Field Mouse by Tom's Studio..

I have nothing new to show as I've begun my preorders from the recent surge of orders.
Thanks for being patient. I'm going to show a few process videos as I make them, so stay tuned.

Here are some random views of my studio!
It's in my house. It's the old dining room.
I wish it was bigger, lighter, and less cluttered.
They do say a creative mind is rarely tidy!
Also when searching for this song I always thought Phil was singing St St Studio!!!
Google has enlightened me..
Sussudio" is a nonsense word invented by Phil Collins for his 1985 hit song, chosen simply because it fit the song's rhythm and felt good to sing...🤣

WARNING - GLASS GEEK POST.
Look away if you're just here for the pretty stuff

Factory made glass has 2 sides. A tinned side and a non tinned side. During manufacturing, the glass is rolled on a bed that creates a trace residue of tin. When using glass paints or stains, it is best to work out which side is which as various products react differently in the kiln. For example, painting on the tinned side will increase the intensity of colour in a stain.
For years, I have had many people explain how to determine which side is which. I have tried the drop test and the side view and have a uv detector but the testing has all still been slightly ambiguous.

Something a little different!
A little exploration in enamels allowing such a rich and vivid colour pallete. Im looking forward to slotting this method into my work soon.
The possibilities are exciting!

Update after the first firing on the glass painting course
It looked great before it went in, I thought I was done!
Then a lot of the deep red tones burnt off on the first fire. Now it's wishy-washy. But, the foundations are permanently there. Now it's easier to see tonal values and what i can build upon to give it more depth.
It's an odd feeling staring at an image intently for hours, I've become quite attached, and they aren't as intimidating as my first thoughts.
I'll keep adding to it/them
