We’ve just picked up these iconic G Plan Fresco chest of drawers. The more common 4 drawer and the 8 drawer version which is harder to find. Full strip, sand and refinish coming up. These are lovely high quality pieces to work on.

I collected this beautiful 60’s White & Newton tallboy this morning from a local charity shop in East Sussex. I love the reeded ‘tambour’ style top drawer. Time to start a renovation!

Popped into Siidcha 吾穀食茶館 cafe in Jiufen, Taiwan today and saw these pieces! Nice old Ercol blue label chairs and a Jentique sideboard.

I’m in Myanmar right now (Burma as it was once called) and I picked up this gorgeous original 1946 FW Elliott clock from Burma Post Office. Working perfectly too.

Lots of beautiful old teak furniture here too!

Time to clear out the loft of future chair projects and put them into storage! I’ll get to them one day! We had 30 chairs up there! Can you spot any chairs makes / models that you know?

Sometimes you come across pieces of furniture that are so well kept and this piece is a great example.

This is a 1960s G Plan coffee table, designed by Kofod Lansen, as part of the Danish range.

Hardly any marks or wear and never been refinished. Remarkable considering the years of use it must have had.

Just a light clean and wax was all that was needed.

I used to live in a Myanmar for 9 years and still run a business in Yangon. I’m currently in the country for 2 weeks for work.

As you know, the country has suffered a huge earthquake and the situation is getting worse.

The situation here in Yangon is stable, no damage but less power than usual, between 2 - 4 hours a day for most people who don’t have generators, although power has been hit and miss for a number of years now.

Central Myanmar is where the crisis is unfolding, lots of destruction around Mandalay and also rural areas, including communities on and around the beautiful Inle Lake. 3000+ dead and the numbers are likely to be much higher

Rescue teams are starting to assist but time is critical and resources low. As well as those trapped and injured, many thousands in the city and surrounding rural areas are now struggling with lack of drinking water, power and medical supplies, as well as being homeless.

It’s often confusing to know who to donate to, to ensure funds get to those affected.

Medical Action Myanmar are one respected charity who are collecting donations for relief work. If you can spare anything, please do:
