Preparing to make a dining table...1st planing, (to smooth the wood , clean up any roughness, also brings out the grains more), then cutting to size; then creating a slightly curved leg = quite chunky as this is a simple dining table)...more to come!

So may woods, so many beautiful grains...I love the story of the Californian coastal redwoods....some grow up to 1.000 feet thanks to the coastal mists enabling much needed water to be absorbed by the trees, and thanks to Lady Bird Jonson for helping to save some of the trees from the lumber trade... for all of us to wonder at..worth going to look at now we can travel again
