Constructs South West is proud to announce that it has officially accredited as a Living Wage Employer. This commitment ensures that everyone working at Constructs receives a minimum hourly wage of £12.60 – higher than the government’s minimum wage for over 21s, which currently stands at £12.21.
Based in the South West – a region where 15.7% of jobs still pay less than the real Living Wage (around 374,000 roles) – Constructs South West is determined to lead by example. By committing to pay the real Living Wage, we are actively working to provide a decent standard of living for all our staff.
The real Living Wage, set by the Living Wage Foundation, is the only UK wage rate independently calculated based on the true cost of living. It is updated annually to reflect rising living costs, giving employers confidence that they are paying a wage that meets everyday needs – not just the legal minimum.
Since 2011, over 16,000 accredited employers have helped secure more than £3.6 billion in pay rises for low-paid workers, positively impacting millions of lives across the UK.
