📮 Only “parts” of Bridgwater affected? It doesn’t sound like it!
Royal Mail has responded to the ongoing delays, saying that “parts” of Bridgwater have been affected due to staff sickness and that deliveries should return to normal within a week.
However, judging by the comments being made locally, the problem appears to stretch across Bridgwater and into the surrounding villages.
We’re still waiting for something that was sent to us locally First Class a week ago, and many people say they’ve been experiencing problems for much longer.
If the mail has already been sorted and is sitting there ready to go out, perhaps it’s time for management to get their boots on the ground and help the posties deliver it. The staff who are still working can only do so much, and they shouldn’t be left to carry the full weight of the backlog.
Royal Mail says things should be back to normal within a week… we sincerely hope they’re right, but we won’t hold our breath!
