A great new look for an old electric recliner 😊
My client chose a hard wearing chenille fabric in a pale lime green colour for her chair.

To give fair warning, due to back problems, this may well be my last recliner chair that I work on πŸ˜¬πŸ˜•

Forgot the before photo πŸ˜„
A simple reupholster of this lovely ladderback chair. Using a salmon colour fabric that compliments my clients decor, I made a bias trim and used antique brass tacks to finish it off. As I had enough fabric, I also made a matching cushion for the back.

Well! I've never had to redesign a sofa before! Especially to incorporate an ornamental dragon!! But it was great fun 😁
To make this work, I had to build in a curved hump in the back of the sofa made from pine board to support the dragon. Rather than try to fit back cushions, I decided to add 4 inches of foam to the back surface, and taper it up to the top to give it a smoother look.
The fabric my client chose here is a short pile chenille in a lovely teal colour.
I also made matching arm caps and scatter cushions.

My next job was a very interesting recliner armchair.
Although the foam in the arms was disintegrating, the rest was in good order, so a fairly straightforward re-covering job. I did try to get the mechanism to work again, but could only get it to partially recline again due to a seized gas strut.
Other than that, I was pleased with the result, and loved the purple chenille my client chose 😁

I do enjoy a family heirloom piece 😊
This little nursing chair was in quite a delicate state, but as requested by my client, I managed to save the original fabric and re-apply it after creating the new seat base.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to save the original trim, but did find a very similar braid to finish it off.

A few bench sets re-covered for a long term client, Trident Gym 😁

For these I use an automotive grade faux leather, as it seems to work and last well on gym equipment.

Apologies for the lack of posts...again lol.
Work has been flooding in, and I'm finding it difficult to find time for Facebook πŸ™‚
Here we have a lovely little walnut tub chair that was partially stripped when I received it from my client.
I used an embossed, cream colour silk fabric, as my client wanted to keep it as close as possible to the original, and finishing details of antique brass tacks.

I really enjoyed transforming these VW campervan seats from 1980's textured velvet to ultra modern linen weave fabric in a gorgeous mustard colour.
Once stripped down, I could see there was some damage to the structure of the foam, I managed to repair and strengthen this by glueing a layer of tough hessian to the whole of the back surface. This should prevent further rubbing on the foam.
My client decided to remove the arms to give a sleeker look, and to ensure the fabric would look smooth and last, I attached scrim foam to all of the panels before sewing them together.

I love my job!! I learn something new with each piece! (well maybe except for the high backed dining chairs πŸ˜†)
This was a first for me, and although quite 'labour intensive' I enjoyed creating this French mattress style floor cushion. Originally the back was completely separate, so I created a tie system to keep it attached to the seat, whilst also enabling the seat to be flipped over if needed 😊

My client wanted a more contemporary look to her pair of occasional chairs, but needed them to tone with her sofa which is in the floral fabric.
We discussed many different ideas in my consultation, but finally decided on this split colour solution, as it pulled 2 colours from the floral, but still looked very modern. I created 2 circular scatter cushions to tie in the theme as well as soften the look of the chairs.
