Exciting* times!

We have always enjoyed making our own compost. It’s much better than the green waste we buy in bulk as it is pre loaded with beneficial microbes and worms that are well suited to our land, which helps give our plants the best medium to grow in to produce the best flowers.

Whilst I’m busy potting on and protecting all of our seedlings from the cold, Nathan has been busy building a new and improved composting area! This will comprise of 4 x 2.5m3 bays, all sharing 2 walls with other bays to help with heat retention. We have plenty of green waste left in the field, and shredded brown waste ready to mix through to produce compost for use later on this year!

Producing our own compost also reduces the carbon footprint of buying compost in, and it’s much cheaper too! šŸ˜†

*may not be exciting if you followed for the pretty flowers, but good soil is instrumental in producing the pretty flowers…
