All S-Box™ Chameleon models pop-up countertop units are installed at exactly 20mm below the surface on a rebate or ‘shelf’. This enables the S-Box™ to be disguised in its location and deploy its full CHAMELEON skills!

In worktop material of 30mm thickness and above, the installation is achieved by sitting the unit on a TRUE REBATE. This is cut WITHIN the material itself.

For material of 20mm thickness, or less, installation is achieved by sitting the unit on a “FALSE” REBATE. This is created by using a second/slave material immediately below.

The S-Box™ Chameleon Pop-Up Socket is designed to camouflage into the same material as the work surface by adding a custom top (max 12 mm thick) cut from the worktop material itself.

S-Box™ Compatible Surfaces / Worktop Materials

The S-Box Chameleon can be installed in most hard worktop materials, including:
Granite
Quartz
Marble
Porcelain
Solid surface materials (e.g., Corian®)
Engineered stone
Timber / wood worktops
Laminate worktops
Compact laminate / composite boards

These materials work because a 10–12 mm piece of the worktop can be cut and used as the custom top, allowing the socket to blend perfectly into the surface.

Typical Installation Locations
The Chameleon is commonly installed in:
Kitchen islands
Kitchen worktops
Bathroom countertops
Office desks and meeting tables
Reception counters or bar tops

S-Box™ Key requirement:

The custom top material must be no thicker than 12 mm and the unit is installed 20 mm below the surface on a rebate.

What an incredible few days at the KBB show! ✨
The success of this year’s event truly exceeded our expectations. From the energy across the halls to the quality conversations happening at every turn, it was clear just how strong and innovative our industry continues to be.
Spending time on the S-Box® stand was a real highlight. There’s nothing better than meeting customers face to face — having the chance to connect in person, share ideas, answer questions, and showcase what makes S-Box® so special. Those conversations are what it’s all about.
