After a couple of years of building my painted furniture business, I’ve realised something important 💚 As much as I love upcycling vintage furniture, there are only so many hours in the day….. and only so much furniture your home can hold before it starts appearing in very random places 😅 So a year ago I rented a space at in Poole 🌟 If you love hand painted furniture, vintage home decor, and sustainable interiors, this is the place, it’s an absolute Aladdin’s cave. With over 100 independent traders, it’s the kind of place you need at least two hours to explore. This little space gives me the freedom to showcase my one of kind painted furniture alongside vintage and second hand home decor I source while travelling around Dorset. Every piece is chosen with sustainability in mind, designed to be loved again and not thrown away 🌍 Now I’d love your advice…. How do I make this tiny space stop people in their tracks? What creates that “OMG, I need to browse” feeling in a small vintage display? Any advice is so very welcome and if you love sustainable living, characterful interior’s and unique furniture with a story, I’d love you to follow along on my journey.

I think a selfie this morning on a freezing cold -2° cliff top would be the perfect way to introduce myself. I used to hate the winter and the grey clouds that hang so low, casting such a gloom over everything. But this year I’m embracing the winter, the cold, the icy mornings even working out outside on top of the cliff tops every week come rain, shine and who knows, maybe even snow! So instead of hibernating all winter this year I’m taking Reverie 73 out of the shadows and into 2026. Feeling positive about a new year is something I’ve never felt before but to be honest I’ve had quite a few hard years and it’s time I made a change. Sadness and grief has been in my life for such a long time. In 2024 David lost his mum and in 2025 I lost my mum. Life is forever changed when you lose someone you love but it can also be a time to appreciate everything and everyone you still have and to seek out a better life and what a great year I’ve had already, 2 furniture sales by the 3rd of January, lots of beautiful pieces in the shed waiting to be beautified, launching a website I built myself, taking on commissions and a better healthier attitude towards life, bring on 2026 #2026

On autumn days, all I want is to curl up in front of a fire. Not that I actually have one, but a girl can dream. The next best thing? Cooking. More specifically, baking. Though let’s be honest, that’s not exactly helpful when I'm trying to stay healthy.
Last year, when I designed my kitchen, I knew I wanted to display ingredients in jars, not just for the aesthetic (though I do love a Pinterest moment), but because I tend to forget what I’ve got when it’s buried at the back of a cupboard.
So when I spotted this unusually tall spice rack, I knew it had potential. A splash of colour, and it becomes the perfect addition to any kitchen, practical, pretty, and a constant reminder to get started on that Christmas cake.
Full disclosure: this isn’t my kitchen. I’m not quite that sophisticated (though I wish I were). But the spice rack? I can't keep it, and it's for sale on Marketplace and Etsy.

This sold in a few hours of it going up for sale. Definitely the fastest selling piece I’ve ever made. It’s got to be because of the William Morris fabric or perhaps it’s the Samphire green paint. Either way yesterday was a good day 😀

Suns done a runner and I’ve got the black paint out. Well technically not black, it’s a dark charcoal grey and I think I’m going to paint everything Ash by Fusion paints from now on! Will share more pictures soon, as I have to say this piece is rather handsome and needs a lot of attention 😀

Oh my god, look at what I got my hands on! These beautiful vintage hand painted wooden Kokhloma spoons are just a small selection that will be heading it’s way to the in Poole sometime very soon. Though I do think the strawberry ones may stay with me 😃

The ultimate recycling project! Taking up the old and broken concrete patio and crushing it on site to make hardcore for our new water permeable gravel patio. Sweaty, smelly and back braking work but oh so worth it. This way we don’t have to pay to have the old patio removed and then pay someone for “new” hardcore and then pay for someone to deliver the “new hardcore.

I know some people don’t like that we paint furniture but luckily for me there’s always someone out there that loves what we do and this beauty is off to it’s new home in the gorgeous city of York.

I’m only halfway through this book and I’m totally hooked. Having spent most of my work life in retail, I’ve always admired Mary Portas. Her expertise and understanding of the retail industry are unmatched. Although I no longer work in such a confined environment and work solo, I’ve seen firsthand how broken the workplace culture is in this country, catering only to a privileged few. Mary’s manifesto for change is inspiring and exciting, it’s a fascinating read for everyone, regardless of gender. It’s an opportunity to revolutionise the working environment and trust me, it’s overdue! How many of you are slaves to your job? Read this book and you’ll thank me later!

Only a few days into January I sold this table that was on sale at the The Den in Poole. I almost did the exact same leap in the air as the dancer in the picture! I’ve only been there for two months and it’s definitely a new direction for me but an exciting one. I can’t wait to see what 2025 brings. Hopefully a lot more sales 😀😀😀😀
