International Women’s Day means something different to every woman — and this is what it means to me 🫶
I’m Sadie, born and bred in Blackpool, mum of four amazing children who keep me grounded, busy, proud, and forever on my toes.
From Sophie becoming a Midwife, to Stacie dancing her way through college, to Davie living and breathing football, to my beautiful Daniel — the baby who made me a mum and who I carry with me every day 💙 My Guardian Angel 😇
My life has always been a mix of school runs, college lifts, football matches, dance shows, running a home, and running a business. Most days, I feel like the mum bus, the organiser, the cleaner, the cook, the referee, and the boss — all rolled into one.
And when I do get a minute to myself, you’ll usually find me with a pint in my local, where my dad frequently drinks after still working at the age of 71.
I’ve worked since I was 12. I’ve grafted my whole life. I’ve learned more from real people than any qualification ever taught me.
From my parents’ café, to Jungle Jim’s, to office work, to joining my dad’s flooring business, to the day he asked, “Fancy selling beds?” — and somehow, that random question became Ashworths Beds 🛌
With Donna’s help (My dads Business Manager) we built something from nothing. With my dad’s belief, we decided to open a shop in January 2013.
With my mum’s support, I raised my babies while building a business.
With a lot of late nights, tears, laughs, and stubbornness, we made it work 💪
Today, I’m proud.
Proud of my journey.
Proud of my business.
Proud of the woman I’ve become.
And proud of every woman who keeps going, even when she’s exhausted.
Happy International Women’s Day to the women who lift, support, teach, and inspire — and to the women who quietly keep the world turning 🥰❤️
