Sad times.
We have been a self funding Charity since 2002. Prior to that BCC covered the service costs. For reasons to painful to publish our self funding work had to stop in April 2019. Now all our reserves have gone. We can't afford to collect furniture donations and when the showroom and warehouse are empty we will close our doors. A Big sorry to everyone in Birmingham needing furniture, we suggest you ask your councillor for help. Thanks to all the loyal staff who want to stick with us to the end. The charity aims to continue to help those in need in Ladywood, once we have sorted a few things out but we will not be collecting or delivering furniture and alas there will be no where for volunteers to gain experiance. C BARRY GM.

As a Charity we are changing direction.
For the future we will concentrate helping families in Ladywood.
This is what we started this Charity for in 1988 and our work has become diluted over time making us less effective.
Ladywood is not just the most deprived area in Birmingham but
the whole of the UK.
Secondly, since there is no funding for Recycling we are no longer collecting furniture that we previously supplied to families on benefits accross Birmingham.
Instead we will fundraise and match fund other local community charity groups to buy furniture from the most competative local suppliers for deserving families in Ladywood.
Thirdly, after years of experiance recycling and reusing we have decided that just because families are poor it makes more sense to provide new furniture and appliances. We have found that most donated items recently have a very short useful life in them because they were designed and made with built in obsolescence and the skills do not exist to carry out the extensive re-manufacturing needed to add value and life to donations at a reasonable cost.
If you wish to help improve the living standards of families in Ladywood, we would welcome your donations big or small and we will work with other local charities to identify those in the most need. Please message our page and we will provide you with our charity account details.
Thank you.
