Baltic Amber Drop Earrings, handcrafted in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter from sustainably sourced Baltic amber.

Amber has always been part of Dovile’s story. Born in Lithuania and now working from Birmingham, she transforms this ancient material into jewellery that feels contemporary, tactile and organic. Formed over millions of years along the Baltic coast, each piece carries its own unique inclusions and tones with subtle traces of the landscape it came from. Every stone in Michele’s opal collection is completely unique. This particular Australian boulder opal has a beautiful depth of colour with vivid flashes of green and blue.

It was handmade in Michele’s workshop beneath the gallery and has been set in her signature textured 18ct gold band.

Michele is currently at her bench working on a couple of new opal commissions, so if you have a specific stone or setting in mind for your own piece, do pop into the gallery for a chat.

This stunning reconstruction of the Kaufmann Office was the absolute highlight of our recent trip to the V&A East Storehouse.

Designed in the late ‘30s by Frank Lloyd Wright for department store owner Edgar J. Kaufmann, the space feels like a piece of fine furniture you can walk into. The entire interior is crafted from swamp cypress plywood and cypress-veneered blockboard, totally defining the space — it’s beautiful!

What we particularly loved was the warmth of the honey-coloured timber combined with the fantastic cuboid chairs and the geometric detailing along the back wall.

We’re obsessed with that kind of precision here at the gallery. It’s why we work with the makers we do — people who treat wood with this much respect to create something that brings joy to the everyday.

If you love wood as much as we do it’s well worth seeking out.

✨Three handcrafted wooden robots have just arrived in the gallery. ✨

Made from carefully selected timbers, including holly, maple, cherry and smoked oak, they’re designed to let the natural colour and grain of the wood define the details rather than using paint. Each piece is carefully crafted from many individually shaped components, combining traditional woodworking with a playful sense of design.

One robot takes inspiration from David Bowie’s Major Tom, while another - the Macbeth Robot - has two faces reflecting the conflicted nature of the tragic king in Shakespeare’s play. Accompanying them is also a loyal wooden dog, standing watch.

Cute and playful, they’re small sculptural pieces that instantly add personality to a space. Now available to view in the gallery.

✨Just landed✨The Spitfire Lounge Chair Mk. Ia by Ian Burnell.

Named in tribute to the Spitfire, you can see how the chair’s design draws on the aircraft in its gently tapering arms and grounded stance as if poised on the runway before take-off. The wide, steam-bent back takes its cue from the black and white wings of the Supermarine Spitfire, while the handwoven paper cord seat and sweet chestnut bring warmth and texture against the depth of the ebonised oak.

The oak is traditionally ebonised using a tannin reaction, then deepened with ink and finished in natural wax oil, allowing the surface to evolve and develop character over time.

A beautiful piece that sits somewhere between functional furniture and collectible design.
