Painted Furniture by Debbiejodyhughes I restore and paint antique, retro, vintage and quality furniture. Be it a single piece or a total bedroom makeover.

I also make Mosaic artworks and statues and hold Mosaic Workshops to teach the ancient art of Mosaic. I restore and upcycle vintage and antique furniture. I search for well made, solid wood furniture that given a thoughtful makeover, has a new lease of life in the modern world. I strongly believe in upcycling and saving useably items from landfill.

Vintage Queen Anne Style walnut veneer dressing table, desk or sideboard. Probably around 1930s, 40s. Well made with solid wood, dovetailed drawers and original brass handles. Stunning, pattern matched walnut panels extending to the Queen Anne legs. Painted in a mid grey then black waxed. Measures 108cm wide, 50cm deep and 81 cm to the top not incl the back rest. Painted Furniture Workshop - September dates added

Learn the correct way to upcycle your inherited or vintage furniture. You will master the different painting techniques and the various effects that can be achieved using coloured waxes and gilding waxes. How to stain, sand and remove stains from wood. Small classes are held in Ifold and you will take home an object that you will paint during the Workshop . Cost is £75.00 for the day and include everything that you will require.

Vitreous, opalescent glass is a great mosaic media. It is much easier to cut and shape as the glass is thinner than mosaic glass tiles and the natural variations in colour enhances the finished mosaic. This is my upcycled horse head that was damaged by pet, so I painted it in a 2-colour painting technique and then mosaiced with the vitreous glass. Quirky, but I love it. Upcycle - Recycle
