THE BEST TOOLS TO ADD TO YOUR WORKSHOP ⬇️
I’m not even exaggerating, these two jigs in the workshop have been a game changer for our furniture builds, the Dado Jig especially as I understand the Chamfer Jig is very specific but still fun to use 🤩

The Dado Jig Build Plans are upgraded with T-Track which is super useful for cutting stopped dados, but also useful for cutting mortises and cross laps too, and it’s all without having to measure anything 🥳

OVER A DECADE OF WAITING 😍 And I finally have one of my own and it blows my mind in many ways 🤯🙈

This machine SawStop Europe has been on my wish list for so long, longer than mine and Katie’s relationship to which I even remember telling her right at the beginning “I’d LOVE a SawStop one day babe”, what a pick up line 🤣 and all that was WAY before I started social media 😍

And so years later, to not only now have one, but to be working with SawStop is insane to me, I’m feeling insanely grateful 🙌🏻

Cheers for your support as always you wonderful humans, if it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t be having these collaborations ❤️

GLUE PLACEMENT‼️ Did you notice where I DID and did NOT apply GLUE? ⬇️

Think of this technique like a breadboard end that’s usually seen on a farmhouse table design, you should only apply glue in the middle section so the panelled parts can expand and contract over the seasons 🙌🏻

And then add a lovely roundover if you fancy getting a bit sexy and hey presto 🥳

A SUPER EASY BUILD ⬇️ This entire build only needs two boards, so it’s cheap and easy to make, WIN WIN 🥳

After so many of you have asked again and again 😝 I thought it was time to bring out plans for the Emilia Side Table. This design is like an easy entry into the world of higher end pieces and so if you want to make your own to show off to your partner or mates, you’ll find the plans on my website monkeyboysworkshop.com

THE FINALE 🥳🥳🥳 PART 5 - Of making the legs for The Five Year Table

You may have already seen the full length YouTube video of building this table, along with surprising my beautiful wife with it 😍 But if not, you know where to go ➡️

To make the leg frame stronger as well as create supports for the table top itself, I made my own out of what ever white oak I had left, shaped them both with a few different tools, drilled a few holes and then done 🙌🏻

I’m honestly still so happy with how this table turned out, and I’m sure you’ll love watching the whole thing unfold from start to finish, go give it some love ❤️

GLUEING UP THE LEG FRAME 🥳

We’re at the shaping stage before the big glue up and with the help of my pals at I was able to smash through this beautiful White Oak with a combination of their 1/4” and 1/2” XGT 40V routers, like BUTTER 🧈 (who knew there was an emoji for butter 🤷🏻‍♂️😂)

Honestly though, the legs on this piece came out so sexy, even though you don’t see it, but I guess that’ll be just for us woodworkers, as we can’t resist looking under table tops can we 😝

ALL ABOUT THE JIGS… Who can say they’ve built a piece of furniture without making a jig or at least thinking they should have done? 😜

I for one love a jig and would much rather take the time making one than messing up down the line, so to create the perfect cross lap, a jig had to be made… in my opinion 😝

Once that was done it was on to cutting it out with my trusty Makita XGT Trim Router, cheers Makita UK and then the test fit 😍

A bit of a glue up in prep for some final shaping and the final glue up of the whole frame 🤩

ad. BOGGLES MY MIND 🤯 But why don’t hats suit me?! They look cool on 98% of the population, why can’t I get away with wearing them 🙈🤣

END OF AN ERA? 🤣
I’ve had my cabinet table saw for about 6 years, and I had an Axminster one before that too, but…

It’s time for a big upgrade, and I cannot wait to get this new one in the workshop 🤩

This whole woodworking journey has gone to places I never EVER thought possible and given me opportunities I only dreamt about.

Safe to say, I’m feeling extremely grateful right now to have all the support from you and the brands I work with. Mind blown 🤯
