Congratulations to the whole team for picking up the TET (Thornton Education Trust) ‘Inspire Future Generations’ award 2025.

It was great to finally complete this aerial drawing of Bristol after 2 years slogging away. The hand drawn illustration captures much of the city centre and surrounding landscape beyond. The work features iconic spaces such as Queen Square, the Floating Harbour and College Green. It includes Spike Island, the Cranes along Princes Wharf and Clifton Suspension Bridge in the distance. The drawing also features Brunel’s SS Great Britain, Cabot Tower and the Wills Memorial Building. Limited edition prints are now available in A3, A2 and A1

We are pleased to share that our ‘BRIDGING HOME’ proposal picked up the humanity medal at the 2025 Awards. The award recognises schemes which demonstrate approaches, qualities and agendas that centre around designing for positive human experiences.

Working with and we developed a concept for an entirely off-grid modular home under 25 Sqm. Alongside the primary brief (a home for a young couple) it attempts to solve bigger social and environmental issues. We chose to address the increasing problem of pollution in UK rivers - the scheme becomes a base for research and community outreach, aiming to raise awareness of poor river quality, loss of habit and collect data on behalf of the UK River Trust - building a platform to empower local communities and lobby national government. Through a collaboration with local authorities, a new bridge is provided for the scheme in an area where a river causes a problematic divide between communities and local amenities. After the research has been undertaken, the scheme moves to another site, with the bridge remaining as a legacy project.

Whilst the design was only theoretical we would be delighted to chat with likeminded people / organisations who might be interested in collaborating, to bring the project to life.

An apology, a thank you and…two factor authentication

On 16th June, my Outlook account was hacked through a brute force attack. The individuals systematically guessed my password and, with no extra security in place, gained full control. Once inside, they reset passwords for every account linked to my email—Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn—then added their own 2FA, locking me out. They also created email rules to divert replies to their own address, hid originals in obscure folders, and changed the language to Russian. It took days to regain control of my email, by which time they had seized my social accounts.

Getting help from these platforms was impossible. After sleepless nights trawling Reddit and battling useless support links, I found an article suggesting becoming a ‘verified user’ for better support. Paying for it let me speak to a human and secure some accounts—though it was frustrating that payment was the only route forward. The experience left me stressed, anxious, and sleep deprived. I felt helpless, watching emails vanish in real time as someone halfway across the world acted from my account. It affected my mood, work focus, and home life. During the takeover, hackers posted about luxury cars and bitcoin profits under my name. I apologise if anyone was misled and thank those who reported the posts or warned me. Messages from friends, family and colleagues were a surprising bright spot amid the chaos.

Weeks later, most accounts are restored—except Instagram. The content posted by the hackers breached the platform’s community guideline and my account was disabled (permanently after my appeal was rejected). So, if you were one of the 7000 connections on Instagram, do feel free to reconnect.

It seems a poignant time to share a new drawing - ‘Oak Tree’. For me, a reminder that the natural landscape around us has existed longer than the internet, social media and digital passwords. When things catch you by surprise and life feels totally overwhelming, time outside, amongst nature is powerful medicine. So that’s all…but some parting advice… take digital security seriously, change passwords regularly and set up 2 factor authentication.

It was lovely to hear that ‘THE STUDY BEDROOM’ has sold at the Open Exhibition. The set of drawings explore three study bedroom typologies; examining how each space may be used and occupied by a typical higher education student.

The study bedroom is a key part of the academic experience. It is not just a place to sleep and work, but a personal space to play, relax, eat, drink, and entertain friends. Alongside the fundamental elements, such as good daylight and sufficient storage space, it must also be able to adapt and embody the personality of the occupant.

This piece was a framed original, but limited edition prints are available (just follow the link in the post)

40 Front Doors of Bath has been the most popular print this year and probably still my favourite piece of work. I have always been fascinated with front doors. It is a concept that has been around for hundreds of thousands of years, with each period in history reflecting its own individual style. From early antiquity to Greek and Roman, to Saxon and Gothic to Georgian, Victorian and modern; each has left their own individual mark on the evolution of the doorway. As well as communicating a great deal about the history of architecture, they can often reveal stories of the individuals or families living inside. Through elaborate forms, complex patterns and intricate mouldings, they were an outlet for showing off good taste, wealth and individuality.

Back in the summer of 2016, I embarked on a mammoth task of documenting over one thousand front doors in Bath in an attempt to capture the vast number of different styles throughout the city. The 1000+ doors were whittled down to 100 and then reduced further to just 40. The final chosen few were then individually hand drawn and collated into a single composition. The whole process took well over a year, and it was incredibly rewarding to finally see ‘40 Front Doors of Bath’ complete.

The piece combines a mixture of elegant Georgian Townhouses, such as no.17 Gay Street, no.23 Royal Crescent & no. 20 The Circus. It celebrates the monumental architectural craft of Bath Abbey, Victoria Art Gallery and the Guildhall. It was also important to highlight some hidden gems in the city, like ‘Good Hope Prior Park Cottages’ and ‘Holy Trinity, Church Road’.

The Gardens of Plant in Basingstoke

Earlier this year, I was invited by to collaborate on a piece of work to celebrate the opening of project PLANT in Basingstoke. The limited-edition booklet documents 13 unique gardens across six levels through hand-illustrated planting plans and species lists. It was great to be involved with this amazing project, thanks again Martin and Claire.
