Further to the Prime Minister’s statement on 16th March 2020, we have decided to suspend all charity operations until further notice.

We have taken the difficult decision to close our workshops from 17th March 2020. We operate in a complex environment and the needs of our clients are varied. In addition, we recognise that as the coronavirus pandemic continues, we, like many businesses and charities, will start to experience challenges to our resilience as we are a small team of dedicated staff and volunteers. Our priority remains to keep our clients, volunteers and staff safe and well.

Whilst our workshops are closed, we will be continuing to support our clients through weekly phone calls and will continue to do what we can, for as long as we can. We will be operating remotely via a small skeleton staff.

Should any of our staff, clients or volunteers experience a new continuous cough or high temperature, we ask that you let us know by emailing our offices at [email protected] or calling the office on 01225 313240.

Additionally, we have taken the decision to close our Southgate shop with immediate effect. We will continue trading via our online shop: www.woodworksshop.com. For any furniture donations, we ask that you send some photos of your furniture to [email protected]. A member of our team will reply to confirm whether we can accept your kind donation.

Please bear with us, as our ability to collect or deliver furniture will be very limited, and our responses to you are not going to be as timely as we would like - we are operating with a very small, skeleton staff.

On behalf of the staff and volunteers, thank you for your understanding.

A lovely customer bought some furniture from our shop a while ago, and has just donated it back to us as she's moving house and can't take it with her. We love to re-use and re-home here!

Please note that our shop will be closing at 4pm on Wednesdays until further notice. We’re very sorry for any inconvenience, but you’ll still be able to browse our lovely furniture online at: www.woodworksshop.com

A Bit About Us

The Woodworks Project empowers people to find purpose in their lives, through woodworking and upholstery, in a safe and creative environment. We offer woodworking and upholstery workshops to people in Bath and surrounding areas, who need a little help back on their feet, whether from mental health challenges, physical health issues, learning difficulties or major life challenge. Our workshops give people the opportunity to make, restore and upholster furniture in a work-like environment, without the pressure of deadlines. They are trained to produce furniture of a high-quality, which is then sold in our shop.

To keep our workshops running, our retail shop, fundraising team and volunteers raise the much needed funds.
