1930’s Exceptional Very Large French Four Metre Bank Of Drawers.

The cabinet is crudely made from pitch pine and then over the years it has been painted and well used to take on a rich unique character. The framed carcass is heavy and strong, the drawers are dovetailed and retain mostly original handles.

The cabinet came from an estate workshop where it was custom made and had a busy life. Our workshop has serviced all the drawers which run smoothly and the cabinet is strong and stable.

Length with shelf extended up: 346cm.

1950’s Original Large French Metal Shop Signage Letters – Perforated Red.

We recently salvaged a signage company on the west coast of France and sourced a large batch of amazing original signage letters, rich in colour and condition with years of sun-bleached age and character.

The letters have been handmade in zinc treated sheet steel and painted as shown. The letters are hollow on the reverse. If we have multiples of one letter, we show the variation in condition in the photography.

The dimensions below are based off the largest letter. The letter β€œI” would have less width than an β€œS” but the height and length are always the same.

1950’s Classic Spindle Bentwood Dining Chairs – Mundus – Set Of Four.

At the beginning of the 20th Century their were two (amongst others) competing bentwood producers, J&J Kohn and Mundus. Both produced chairs in various factories throughout the Austro Hungarian empire.

Undoubtedly due to a combination of commercial pressure from the market leading producer Thonet and the political upheaval of the time, the firms merged in 1914. Beautiful surviving and fascinating chairs, this is a set of four chairs in excellent condition. As they were handmade, the dimensions are never the same chair to chair. In this set one of the chairs is a smidge smaller than the rest. All our chairs pass through our own workshop where they are gently serviced and sensitively restored, we only sell vintage of excellent quality.

1960’s Original Pair Of Armchairs - Teal With Maze Effect.

Sourced direct in the Czech Republic this is one of Ε mΓ­dek’s most elegant designs. We carefully select very original armchairs ensuring the fabrics and upholstery are in as good as condition as we can find. The frame is beech throughout and the arms have been cleaned and waxed but retain their original character. This model has a standard foam seat. The upholstery is completely original and has been deep steam cleaned by our workshop team. The price is for one armchair only.

1960’s Practical Folding Shelf - Up Zavody.

Practical piece of mid century by the Czech maker Up Zavody. Czech was a large producer of high quality mid century furniture following the surge of modernism originated by the Bauhaus school.

The shelf is made from solid oak with a simple folding mechanism which adds strength due to the cantilever but is also a space saving feature for a tight hallway. Our workshop has gently cleaned, serviced and waxed the shelf. The shelf hangs on hidden brackets.

1950’s Honey Beech Dining Chairs By Radomir Hoffman – Set Of Four.

These chairs were produced by the famous Czech firm Ton, still trading today and producing beautiful chairs, they are an offshoot of Thonet. This model is one of the most well known designs by Radomir Hoffman and unusually with the polished wood seats and in a warm honey oak colour. We service each chair individually before it leaves our workshop.

Contemporary Prismatic Glass Pendant Lamp 30cm – Large.

These lamps are made especially for us using the highest quality pure heavy weight European prismatic glass. The gallery tops and ceiling cup are high quality brass.

Each lamp has been built by us with modern European CE standard components to BS EN 60598. Each lamp is individually tested and labelled to BS EN 60598.

Each lamp comes completely wired and ready to install including; 2 metres of brass chain for hanging the lamp, 2 metres of black fabric covered electrical cable and a ceiling hook as shown. The lamp is fitted with a standard E27 threaded lamp holder for which a wide range of modern and vintage style filament bulbs are widely available. We do not currently sell bulbs and recommend LED bulbs 6W maximum.
