Comments from their stay
"We had a marvellous 3 night stay at Slemish Barn. We hired the whole place for 24 of us - plenty of room for all - each room en suite - great kitchen facilities, games, roaring fire & hosts were absolutely lovely - helpful & kind - we would all highly recommend Slemish Barn & will be back!"

"A home from home, so easy and relaxed. The kids loved it."

We have now opened our downstairs rooms for bookings for September on all usual channels and our own website or direct inquiries. Busy this weekend but still some space for Sunday night.
We are looking forward to offering our two upstairs rooms as family ensuites in the near future after completing the work to convert them from dorms over the past few months. Photos to follow.

Hi to everyone out there.
We, like a lot of businesses have had a difficult time during lock down but we are now in a position to accept bookings from direct inquiries from email or Facebook for the next few weeks.
We are not quite ready to open our calendar yet for online bookings as there is still some uncertainty around how large groups from multiple households can interact indoors so we want to take a chat with any prospective guests before we accept a booking.
We have been busy making some improvements to the facilities here by adding an ensuite to one of the large rooms upstairs so it can act both as an ensuite family room and a dormitory. We have also connected the second large room upstairs to the old shared toilet and shower facility so it can also be both an ensuite family room and a dormitory. It means also that each dorm has its own shower/ toilet/ washing facility. We are just waiting to get everything fully finished before we take some new photographs and get the chance to show you all.
We are looking forward to getting back into the swing of things, so email or message us if you are looking for groups, family or individual bookings

We have closed again for online bookings during this latest lockdown.
Keep safe out there and see you on the other side of all this

This is a very timely article from the Guardian about the challenges faced by the hostel sector. It all sounds very familiar to us

Some hostels found success by operating like B&Bs this summer, but that’s not a long-term solution. Unless guests return, many won’t survive

We are hugely saddened to hear of Roma's sudden passing. We have been privileged to host Roma and Centrestage for the past few years at Slemish Barn for their Summer Drama holiday. Love to Colin, Rachael, Hannah, Ruth and wider Centrestage family.

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Roma. She went peacefully this morning. We can’t thank the staff enough at the Mater Hospital. In particular to Dr Michael and Bernie and Emma who took care of her. Hopefully we will be able to give her a proper send off when the world is calm again. Stay safe. Stay home.
