Brand Exposé | Burbidge

At Oloö, we believe great kitchens begin with exceptional craftsmanship — which is why Burbidge is the first brand in our new exposé series.

Founded in 1867 by Henry Burbidge with just ten shillings, the company’s roots lie in traditional British woodworking. From supplying precision components to the weaving and building trades, to producing hand-turned parts for the early motor industry — including work for Dunlop — Burbidge built its reputation on skill, adaptability and quality.

Through two World Wars, the Coventry Blitz, and decades of industrial change, the business remained family-run, continually evolving its craft. By the 1970s, Burbidge was producing solid oak kitchen doors, responding to a growing desire for natural materials in fitted kitchens — a move that helped shape the modern fitted kitchen market.

Today, five generations on, Burbidge is recognised as one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of kitchen doors and panels, combining traditional joinery knowledge with modern production and design. Their commitment to quality and innovation has been recognised with the Manufacturing Guild Mark from the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers.

This heritage, craftsmanship and forward thinking is exactly why Burbidge sits at the heart of our offering — and why we’re proud to showcase their doors and panels in our Ballyclare showroom.
