A peek into how impactful well designed medical spaces can be on patients and staff.

The clinical team at Musgrove park Hospital, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, appointed POP to work with them to integrate design themes of decoration throughout their new MRI suite.

Aligning a wider strategy between Radiology and Paediatrics to reduce the need for scanning children under anaesthetic.

Inspiration was taken from a MRI simulator designed like a space rocket. This allows children to prepare for the procedure and have a positive experience from being in a confined space with strange noises.

It was important to include all age ranges, as both adults and children will use the MRI, this is why nature and woodland themes were included.

Seeing nature and the outdoors has a huge positive impact on unwell people.

It’s not possible for MRI diagnostic facilities to have windows to the outside, which is why creating an interior based on nature is a great distraction and persuades the brain we are in a calm, safe space.

Find the Space person amongst the nature theme, will continue to keep children occupied, while staff prepare them for the MRI scan.

Creating digital content can be a challenge!
(I know this from personal experience.)

But it can also be surprising and revealing about an organisation.

This post was inspired by having a conversation with a client about the things their customers didn't know about their business. From finding new ways of manufacturing locally and reducing their carbon footprint, to committing annual donations to a homeless charity.

Why is this important to share?

It's important for your audience, to know what you value, what you care about. This creates trust and loyalty for your business and builds on your brand.
