Curtains for this room were always going to be a challenge with a stairwell between two windows. Relieved that jobs done and really pleased how they have turned out. Fabric from was made by the lovely Sharon. Excited for the next set coming soon for The Marseille room.

Lovely brunch

What a relief it is to have finally got to this point in our project. We have always renovated homes over the last 40 years together but this has certainly been the most challenging and we couldn’t have done it without the help of our truly amazing friends and family and team who have really pulled out and helped make le Logis du Cloître comfortable and relaxing place to stay. The house was full of discovery, little treasures and array of surprises that had been forgotten over the years. In the words of a neighbour you are waking up a sleeping beauty.

Caught Rowland contemplating the next phase of the French project. It will be a suite of rooms including a Large bedroom with bathroom and a library and sitting area. It’s a big challenge as the panelled room already has a large beautiful painting of Marseille on one wall and two large mirrors from a Chanel fashion show on two walls and finally three windows which gives the room fabulous light. Oh and the late 18th century carved fireplace. Previously the room was used as an upstairs salon painted in a French Grey or very close relative and has so much charm which we want to keep but it really needs soo much work but we have been working with from and her team who has really kept the project on track
