Three shelves of solid wood, sat on a chunky steel frame. No flat-pack shortcuts, no hollow cores, no MDF pretending to be something it isn't.

This is the unit that holds the Sunday afternoon films, the stack of paperbacks you keep meaning to finish, and the plant that's slowly taking over the lower shelf. Hand-finished so every knot and grain line stays visible when the lamp light catches it of an evening.

A quick workshop note on rustic wood, since we get asked about it a lot. Those knots aren't flaws to hide. They're actually the strongest part of the board, where the grain pulls tight around old branches.

Sand them, oil them, leave them be. They'll outlast the telly sitting on top 🪵

Quick one for our local lot: the showroom is closed on weekends throughout June.

We've got a workshop full of bespoke commissions on the bench right now. Solid oak tops, chunky steel frames, a few dining tables that need our full attention from grinder to final wax. Weekends in June belong to the build.

The showroom is open as usual Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Pop in for a coffee, have a wander round the pieces in the flesh, and chat through any custom ideas you've been sitting on.

When we build our industrial coffee tables in the workshop, we build them to last. Solid wood tops, chunky welded steel frames, the lot. But raw, natural wood still needs a tiny bit of care to age beautifully through years of family meals, mug rings, and long evenings on the sofa.
