JustWild

JustWild is a Forest School set in magical NT grounds at Alderley Edge. We offer Family Wild Time sessions, parties and we also run sessions for schools.

JustWild is a Forest School run by an experienced Level 3 practitioner who also has 14 years experience as a Primary School Teacher and SENDCo. We offer weekly Parents and Tots sessions (term time only) which take place on a Friday morning, 10:00am - 12:00pm. These sessions are themed and include crafts, free play activities, story time and campfire cooking. They are very relaxed which allows chil

dren to dip in and out of activities as they choose to. We also run monthly Family Wild Time sessions. These take place on the first Sunday of the month and are open to children of all ages and their family. They too include crafts, tool use, campfire cooking and free play, but they also include a Family Challenge, which again people can opt in or out of. Examples of the challenges are: Bow and Arrow Tournament, Build a Forest Chair, Forest School Olympics and Den Tournament! We always have lots of fun, outside, whatever the weather, whilst making new friends and learning new skills. In addition to these sessions we offer Forest School parties, which we can theme around the interests of your child, as well as additional sessions in the school holidays. Events are always posted on our FB page. We also work with local schools. Children can either visit us on our site or we can bring our Forest School skills to them in their setting. To my dearest wildlings,

I have missed you all dearly and I hope that you are all well during these challenging times.

It has been 1 year since I last posted on here as I had to put JustWild on hold whilst I focused on my 'real world' job.

However, one year on and it is with a very heavy heart that I have to tell you the time has come to say goodbye to JustWild. I am truly sad to be saying this as I loved every second of running this business....even when the rain was pouring and the snow was falling. And I will be eternally grateful for all of your support over the years.

But....time moves on and as they say...all good things come to an end.

I am moving to pastures new. A new school not too far from here...nestled in the Peak District. So if you have a little person and you are thinking about which school to send them to, or if your child doesn't seem quite as settled as they should be in their current setting...then please come and visit me for a chat....I PROMISE THERE WILL BE FOREST SCHOOL OOZING FROM EVERY CORNER.

I wish you all the most amazing of futures. I am so privileged to have met each and every one of you. Thank you for always being such great sports and for always going along with my crazy ideas. Sending much love to you and your families. X###x

Dear Wildlings....I have missed you and my wild time with you and yours. ❤🌳🌼

For those of you who don't know, JustWild is paused at the moment as in September I started my new role as Interim Headteacher at Styal Primary School. I am so loving this new role and feel very honoured to work at such an incredible school with such an amazing team.

We pride ourselves in offering something a little different. We are a small village school set in the stunning Styal Woods and we operate as one big amazing family. We are fully inclusive and celebrate difference. We use our incredible outdoor setting to the max and all of our children access our beautiful Forest School.

We are holding an Open Morning this Friday...and it would be lovely to see some familiar faces. So if you have a little person due to start school in Sept 2020...or if you are considering a change in setting for your child...or if you just want to come and have a nosey...then please do pop in to meeting our amazing pupils and have a cuppa!

The last Forest School session of this academic year just happened and it involved a really emotional goodbye to a very special young man who will be moving to secondary school in September. My Friday group all have severe autism and it is hard to put into words how wonderful our sessions are, how our friendships have grown and also how much the children's skills have developed over the last 2.5 years. They all touch my heart and Friday afternoon is still the best part of my week.
Next year I will need to take a step back from my Forest School life as I am taking on a new, temporary, role in my real job! I am sad to reduce JustWild as we have come so far and met so many incredible people, but hopefully it will just be a short lull and I can one day get back on track with my passion.
Thank you to everyone who has supported JustWild, it has been amazing to make so many new friends and touch so many lives. Forest School really is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me.
