On completion with all commissions, the satisfaction is extremely high. Every piece of timber used on all our tables, comes from reliable, local companies in the Ringwood & New Forest district. We have our saw mill to cut tree butts into the desired planks and then they are racked on stickers in a stable environment to season dry. All timbers are fully protected against wood boring insects. I’m running out of steam! More rippled Olive Ash, the best Yew from back in 2015 (from the grounds of Florence Nightingale’s former family home and large spalted Hornbeam (planted for Princess Beatrix’s wedding back in 1780ish on the Heron Estate, Dorset)….

Today’s selection for The Oak Fair is this large Black Mulberry. The sander is 900mm capacity and we had to nip-in the widest corners. The timber was sawn 2017 by me. This tree grew in New Forest and dated in excess of 200 years old.

Prepping ready for Stock Gaylard Oak Fair 2023! English Elm, Mulberry, Persian Ironwood, ¼ sawn Oak and more! I do a bit every night. I’m looking forward to finishing the spalted Hornbeam and Walnut. All my timber is seasoned and fit to work (unless stated).
