🇫🇷 J’ai récemment été chargé de réparer ce canapé qui était devenu inconfortable après un temps et j’ai pensé que je pourrais réinstaller les ressorts et renforcer la sangle de soutien au bas du canapé. Ce n’était pas vraiment possible pour un certain nombre de raisons, alors j’ai suggéré de renforcer juste la sangle et de créer des coussins pour rendre le canapé plus confortable. Maintenant vient essayer de faire correspondre le tissu au velours ! J’ai réussi à couper un échantillon en dessous et j’ai pensé que j’avais de la chance quand j’ai trouvé une allumette, mais j’ai réalisé après un voyage à Toulouse que le dessus du canapé s’était probablement légèrement estompé sur de nombreuses années.
La seule solution était d’emprunter la camionnette d’un ami pour prendre tout le canapé pour correspondre. Malheureusement, il pleuvait quand je suis arrivé et cette partie a dû être faite avec le canapé suspendu à l’arrière de la camionnette pour l’empêcher de se mouiller. J’ai trouvé la meilleure correspondance de couleur possible, puis j’ai réussi à terminer le canapé pour mon client.✨💃✨
🇬🇧 I was recently charged with repairing this sofa that had become uncomfortable after some time and I thought I could reinstall the springs and reinforce the support strap at the bottom of the sofa. This wasn’t really possible for a number of reasons, so I suggested just strengthening the strap and creating cushions to make the sofa more comfortable. Now came trying to match the fabric to the velvet! I managed to cut a sample underneath and thought I was lucky when I found a match, but I realized after a trip to Toulouse that the top of the sofa had probably faded slightly over many years.
The only solution was to borrow a friend’s van to take the whole sofa to match the fabric. Unfortunately, it was raining when I arrived and this part had to be done with the sofa hanging from the back of the van to prevent it from getting wet. I found the best possible color match, then I managed to finish the sofa for my client.
