Created in 1996 by the Altran group, the Altran Foundation for Innovation is today recognised as a major player in European sponsorship. National Awards are hold each year, to reward innovative technological projects that benefit the common good: the laureates are offered a technological support from a team of Altran engineers. The 2012 international laureate :

art robot wich can follow people with reduced mobility in an autonomous and safe way with the aim of being used as a trolley in supermarkets and airports. And now begins the 2013 national awards, with:
-Italy "Waste to energy: from the 1st law of thermodynamics to the 2nd law of sustainability"
-Belgium "Technological Innovation for safe, sustainable and healthy food"
-Portugal "Innovating for a more sustainable world"
-UK "Intelligent systems"
-Switzerland "A sustainable future through smart and mobile devices"
