This pastel has been double mounted, and a slip inserted under the frame to provide depth, and draw you to the image. I always think that a picture framer's job is to make the observer go past the frame and to focus on the image.

This worked out real nice.The frame was originally larger, and has been cut down,mitred, and assembled, and a double mount was cut to complement the image.I use a lot of older frames in my work.

A piece of traced history, the image wasn't pressed as it was fragile, though it was cut down and some information was moved and a window created below the image.Bespoke frame.

As well as being a picture framer I have also run a brocante for many years.I'm concentrating on the picture framing and I'm selling off all of the brocante stock to make room for new framing stock. I am holding a sale at the shop tomorrow, saturday 13th, prices have been hugely reduced, and I'm also having a 50 % off, or more for all framed pictures and mirrors in the shop.My wife, and my mother in law are also holding an excellent clothing sale in our adjoining garage. Come on down, you never know what you might find.
