Tables "Wintercount"
Cette composition magnifique, moderne dans son concept, s'inscrit ainsi dans le savoir-faire séculaire de l'artisanat de la Nation Sioux.
Gerald HEḢAKA ṪAMAHECA "Laḱota aux doigts d'or".
Pièce d'Art Franco / Lakota - Set de trois tables réalisées en collaboration par Myriam Courtois (Ebéniste - France) et Gérald Hehaka Tamaheca (Thin Elk, Artiste Lakota Sioux - Dakota du Sud, USA).
Ce projet a duré 4 ans des premiers croquis a la création réalisée.
La première fois que j'ai mis les pieds sur la terre du Dakota du sud, j'avais 45 ans. Et j'ai été bouleversée.....par la beauté des paysages, la beauté des gens, la beauté de la culture Lakota .
C'est en y allant que j'ai fait la connaissance de Gérald.
Il est Artiste spécialiste du perlage Lakota et je suis ébéniste et peintre.
Tout naturellement nous avons eu envie de créer quelque chose ensemble en associant nos savoir faire.
Mots de Gérald :
"My Lakota relatives, before the encroachment of the Europeans arrival used this design to mark significant times of the year. Such as, a birth, a war deed, a hardship, good times and bad times, etc. So, me and Myriam agreed that this would be a great colaboration of French/Lakota joining to create these tables. As I have French ancestry on my Lakota side in my family Tree. On my maternal side is Bordeaux, on my Paternal side is Thin Elk. The designes were painted on tanned Buffalo hides with earth paints that were gathered from different plants from the praires of what is now called South Dakota. Every year, at the end of each year the heads of each family (Chiefs) would talk about the most significant things that happened that year, then mark that event for the year. Some actual Wintercount Buffalo hides can still be seen in museums on the Rosebud Reservation and there are still other Lakota people that still make these buffalo hide Wintercount yet to date."

7 pièces en perles de verre délicatement tressées pour les centres.
Le perlage est incrusté dans un cuir de qualité, teinté gris bleuté.
