Hi folks, we'd like to ask for your help if we may.
In December, a group of us were involved in the rescue of a starved and neglected girlie, now called Kiki, who was being left out in minus 5 degrees freezing weather and without shelter or food. The dog was handed over by the owner to his ex partner, and the S.P.A Mornac visited to investigate the case.
Rather than Kiki be taken to the pound, we offered to foster Kiki on the basis she was compatible to live with cats, as she got on so well with our dozy Indian rescue dog Ringo and she genuinely has the loveliest nature too.
Sadly, despite our best endeavours at integrating her with our fur family, it soon became apparent that she wasn't suited to a home with cats and she has recently come very close to attacking 2 of our boys.
Therefore, the lady who rescued Kiki and now is her legal owner, has asked if we can help her find either a new foster home or ideally, a new forever home, where there are no small furry creatures, other than dogs, as she absolutely the company of another dog and loves to play rough and tumble.
ABOUT KIKI:-
Kiki is 4 years old, fully vaccinated and now house trained Husky x Rottweiler girl, she has a very loyal loving nature and full of energy, so loves to go for long walks. As Kiki was starved and used to escaping to find food, she needs to be walked on leash, or she will take herself for a walk as old habits die hard......
However, she is a very strong dog, so would be best suited to a new home where she can benefit from experienced owners, who can continue her training and development. She came to us without any training whatsoever, but she is very intelligent, so now totally clean in the house, she has good recall in the garden (zero recall off leash), she will sit and give her paw for treats and will also wait for her food when told.
Please can you share with anyone you feel may be interested in offering a home to this beautiful girl, or even just a foster placement for the time being.
We will be desperately sad to see Kiki leave, but we have to look after the safety of our 7 cats, but Ringo will also be devastated to see his friend leave, so we will be looking for a cat friendly doggie in the very near future. Therefore, please let us know if you see any cat friendly young doggies available for adoption and help us offer a home for life for Ringo’s new best friend.
