Our thoughts are going out all the 1000s of people who've been displaced and all the animals who've lost their lives in these fires. 😿 We wholeheartedly salute the brave firefighters, working tirelessly and risking their lives to contain these raging fires from spreading further.

The smoke from the wildfires in the Gironde is now dropping over us in the Charente. The sky is dark like early evening and the fog of smoke is getting thicker and really stinky as it's coming down. It's horrible, but we're the lucky ones at the moment.

If you would like to get updates on where the fires have started, there's an app called "Feux de Forêt" which you can download from Google play store or here on their website https://feuxdeforet.fr
It updates you if there's a fire near you.... You set the distance for when it should alert you.

I hope this helps and please follow the advice from your prefecture to stay safe folks.
