After a long development period, the prototype of a firewood stand with a flexible wood chain has been completed.

The idea for this unique design developed over the years. The approach was that I wanted to design a means of storage and transport for firewood from the same raw material. It should have a special highlight that would make the product unique and interesting.
The chain links are connected to each other using round wooden rods, which are then attached to the frame construction using copper tubes, just like the carrying handle.

The prototype was made from pine wood, but other types of wood are also possible, which can even be combined with one another in an one of the kind firewood stand.

The firewood stand with its flexible wooden chain holds your firewood and creates a warm and cozy atmosphere in your home or summer cottage.

After 3 days with a lot of sawing it was time for the first assembly.

Today it was time to remove all the masking tape and sand the inside of the coffee table.

I also found some time to fill some gaps in the original cones with moss.

Next week the old window still has to be restored a bit so that it can then be fitted into the upper part of the construction.

I would like to wish you all a nice and relaxing weekend.

Your Andreas

Yesterday the first traditional Finnish Hirsitalo joints were sawn. It's time consuming, but I really enjoy working with the old, traditional crafts.

Have a nice day and enjoy life...

On Friday, after a long search, I finally found a dealer who had the much-needed vintage window in the right dimensions.

Now that all components have been sawn to their final length and I was able to do the first setting test. I like the look of the coffee table.
The window will serve as a tabletop base so that the glass top has a solid support surface.

Next week, the ends of the wooden beams will be sawed into the traditional Finnish wooden house joints.

All a hauskaa vappua (1 of May)

Hello, heart-ware is back online.
Over a year ago I bought old wood from a traditional Hirsitalo built around 1890 from the town of Heinola in Finland.

The house was dismantled in such a way that it can be rebuilt in the original at another location. This never happened and this is how the individual wooden beams were sold.

At the moment something new with a lot of history is being created from the old wooden beams I bought for a German customer.

Upcycling always means putting a lot of time, work, patience and creativity into a project.

The project finally started to be handcrafted two weeks ago after many theoretical plans and drawings.

Here is a pictorial sequence of the eventful first two weeks.

The antique finds, hand-forged nails and very old remains of wallpaper:

The old connecting pins are glued in and sent to the break for a day to dry.

The next step is straightening the cut surfaces with the next machine:

Lucky, thanks to the metal detector, found some more iron in the wood:

Planed cut surfaces, these will later become the inside of the project:

If you want to know what will be the beautiful result of all the individual parts, then you have to wait for the next post 😉
Bye for now…

It has been a long time since I posted something on Facebook. A lot happened during this time. A lengthy and demanding customer project has been completed (photos are still being processed).
Furthermore, a complete relocation of the workshop to an interesting new location that also has a sawmill.

Andreas and heart-ware wish everyone a safe and healthy time over the holidays

Time goes by so fast. After waiting, I got my new equipment for a machine from Germany. I would need it to drill long straight holes for my table projekt, to be able to connect the table extentions. Here are some pics of my testing, so the the final result will be perfect.
