Wood as a language for learning.
At the Runnymede College Library in Alcobendas, Spain, timber defines more than the structure. It gives rhythm to the space and brings a quiet warmth to everyday school life.
Designed by Rojo/Fernández-Shaw Architects, the project was awarded the AMAD 2024 Prize in the New Build category, recognising its thoughtful use of wood as a natural and sustainable material.
Within this architectural context, 132 SLAM Chairs by Lievore Altherr Molina for Sellex support reading and study. For the architecture studio, their comfort and lightness were essential, as well as the possibility of stacking and reconfiguring the space with ease.
A project where furniture does not seek attention, but belongs to the architecture.
