Every piece matters 🧩

Our last workshop with the children focused on empathy, respect, bullying, and discrimination through interactive energizers and group discussions 🎭🤝

The children reflected on real-life situations, shared their opinions, and explored together what kindness, inclusion, and respectful behavior look like in everyday life 🌍💚 Their engagement, curiosity, and honesty made the exchanges truly powerful ✨

We ended the session with a collaborative cat puzzle 🧩🐱, a simple but meaningful moment reminding us that every piece matters, just like every person in a community 🫶

Our two volunteers in Siwa are learning Egyptian Arabic to make the most of their experience here and dive even deeper into local life.

They’re getting good! A few more sessions and they’ll be proper Egyptians (or Masriyeen) ! 😂🇪🇬

Feelings in English 😊😢😡😱

Learning English can be fun, expressive, and full of emotions!

During this session in Alexandria, children explored vocabulary related to emotions and feelings, learning how to identify and express emotions such as happiness, surprise, sadness, anger, and more 🗣️💭

Through games, role-playing, and theatre activities 🎭, they practiced English in a dynamic and interactive way. By mixing learning with play, children gained confidence, improved their vocabulary, and discovered new ways to communicate their feelings.

Because non-formal education is at the heart of what we do, this session combined language learning, creativity and drawing, movement, and lots of laughter 💛✨

🌙 Eid is coming… and so are our little fluffy sheep 🐑✨

For our last workshop before Eid al-Adha, the children made their own little sheep using recycled cotton from an old pillow ☁️♻️
A soft, creative and joyful moment full of imagination to enhance traditions ✂️💛

Throughout the session, children also learned English vocabulary related to sheep, animals with tails, and Eid al-Adha in a fun and interactive way 📚🐑

And to end it on a special note… we hid little surprises behind the sheep as a gift for this final workshop before Eid 🎁✨

Each step of the process encouraged creativity, focus, and joy, while giving new life to everyday materials in a fun and meaningful way 🌿

From Paper to Surprise ⚡🍫

During this workshop, kids explored origami by creating their own Pikachu box ⚡
At the end, volunteers secretly added chocolates inside to surprise them 🍫✨

Each fold became part of a fun and engaging process, turning simple paper into something meaningful and joyful! 🤩

Learning through play was at the center of the session, helping children express themselves while having fun together. That’s why on the behining of the workshop we also played an energizer where children had to jump to one side depending on the color and shape called out in English 🎨🔺🟦

Frame it 🖼️🌴

🏜️ 📚 After their love for clay in the last session, we gave children the chance to create freely again! This time, they shaped things they recognize from Siwa, while learning their names in English!

💭✨From familiar objects to local symbols, each creation reflected their environment and imagination. To finish, they framed their artwork and took it home with pride.

✨🦸‍♀️ This week, as we continue honoring our volunteers, we’re proud to dedicate this post to the incredible Amira, an artist who found her place through creating and sharing with others 🎨

🌱 Through her experience with Torraha, she grew more patient, present, and deeply connected, both in her work and within herself

💫 🫂 Sometimes, it’s the smallest moments that stay forever: a drawing, a smile, a simple “I love you”

What’s in My Hands? ✨🙌

In this fun workshop, children completed a character by imagining what they were holding. From everyday objects to totally creative ideas, each drawing became a unique story 🎨✍️

As always, non-formal education was part of the experience, with outdoor energizers mixing learning and fun: games using a stick, a ball, and chalk to draw spaces like sun, sea, and land ☀️🌊🍃

🌴✨ Dream Workshop in Siwa Oasis ✨🌴

This week, we held a special workshop in the beautiful Siwa Oasis with our new volunteer, Lieke (Lili) from Netherlands 🇱🇺 💛🌷

We crafted dreamcatchers from date twigs, making use of nature’s own resources : the twigs are a residual product in Siwa, now transformed into art. 🌿
Our theme was dreams: What do you dream of in your life? What do you want to achieve? Work on it and make it grow! 🌱→🌴

A dreamcatcher will guard your dreams for you and help you to realise them. 🌸
To end the day, we learned our first song on the guitar together, filling the oasis with music, creativity, and hope. 🎶💛
