A statement acquisition for collectors of the exceptional.
This French Louis XVI style ormolu-mounted Royal Vitrine Cabinet is crafted after the celebrated designs of Frédéric Durand et Fils, inspired by the legendary Parisian ébéniste Martin Carlin, Paris, last quarter 19th Century; Executed with master-level marquetry and finely chased ormolu;
The composition is crested with ormolu ornamented concave sides crown prominently embellished with a fine rocaille shell ormolu mount and flanked with ormolu pinecones above an apron bordered with Egg-and-dart pattern ormolu trim adorned with three pierced interlaced swaged loose ribbon-tied laurel garlands, establishing a balanced architectural rhythm.
The breakfront façade is of three-quarter doors with central protruding door, all have foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheon, articulated with ormolu filet-mounted glazing, opening to a velvet-lined, capitonné interior, designed for a refined presentation of porcelain or curated objects.
The lower quarter is sans traverse veneer inlaid and naturalistic floral marquetry patterns and enriched with ormolu pendant garlands, and flanked by Chinoises turned fluted colonnettes, resting on toupie feet beneath an arbalète apron centered with an ormolu ribboned-shape blossoming floral wreath.
A high-caliber reproduction, conveying the full decorative vocabulary of Parisian ébénisterie—adapted for today’s most distinguished interiors.
This is not merely furniture—it is status, heritage, and investment in one piece.
