OUR HISTORY
Our roots go all the way back to 1937 when cabinetmaker Søren Holmris Hansen founded Holmris in a small town in Mid-Jutland called Bjerringbro and began producing household furniture for the Danish market. The second-generation Erik Holmris went one step further and trained at the Design School in Copenhagen, where most of the contemporary furniture designers also studied. Throughout t
he ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s, Holmris experienced rapidly growing export sales – mainly to the North American market. Henrik Holmris, 3rd generation took over in 1993 and began to change the company’s course towards the office furniture market and through several strategic mergers and acquisitions, we are now among the most innovative and broadest providers of furniture and interior design solutions for the professional markets. For 80 years, the company was 100% family owned but in June 2017 the investment firm BWB Partners acquired 60% of the share capital in Holmris Group. FOCUS ON DANISH DESIGN
