Shaped from bamboo and refined through years of experience, the structure reinterprets traditional Japanese lantern making. Thin washi is wrapped around finely spaced ribs, nearly 75 meters of internal framework within each piece, resulting in a softer diffusion and a more evenly balanced light.⁠

A closer look. A first glimpse.

During 3daysofdesign, we’ll be unveiling new editions of some of our most beloved pieces.

Washi paper, layered with visible fibers, catches the light in a way that feels both raw and refined. Its surface tells a story - of texture, of time, of nature shaped by hand.⁠

Motarasu will be part of Studio Retreat, a curated exhibition in collaboration with Rye, Søuld and We do Wood. Together, we will transform an intimate studio apartment into a living experience inspired by nature.

wooden backrest in a balanced construction.
